Uniform and Appearance

Swans School Uniform Policy
At Swans School, all students are required to wear the school uniform, which has been thoughtfully selected to be smart, functional, and modern. While there are variations in the guidelines based on academic stage, we provide basic guidelines alongside specific rules governing uniform and appearance. We expect our students to take pride in their appearance and adhere to the school's uniform policy. Your cooperation in maintaining a respectful and stylish school community is appreciated.
Uniform compliance is mandatory at all times. Students should move around the school quietly and orderly, and must also travel to and from school dressed in their school uniform. The Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team reserve the right to determine appropriate school uniform.
Due to the mild climate in Marbella, students will primarily wear the Summer Uniform for a longer duration throughout the academic year compared to colder climates. Each academic year begins with students wearing the Summer Uniform, given the warm weather at this time. After the first Autumn Half Term Break, students transition to Winter Uniforms, which are worn until the end of the Spring term, allowing students to revert to the Summer Uniform at the start of the Summer Term. During the winter period, secondary students are required to wear blazers with a jumper underneath, while primary students may swap summer dresses or short trousers for skirts or winter pinafore dresses.
Jewellery Policy
- Students are not permitted to wear jewellery, with the exception of:
- A wristwatch
- One pair of small stud earrings
Hair Policy
- Long hair must be tied back in a tight ponytail using a blue, black, or brown bobble.
- Extreme hairstyles and hair coloring are not acceptable.
Coats and Outerwear
- In cold or rainy weather, students may wear appropriate coats or waterproof jackets of their choice. However, these must be removed inside the school building and hung on the provided pegs or placed inside lockers.
Nail Varnish Policy
- Nail varnish must be a natural color, and nails should be of an appropriate length for school. - Students with nails that are too long or painted in non-natural colors may be asked to have them removed or the nail varnish taken off.
