Dear Swans families,

This half term has been full of fun and learning. Yesterday, we celebrated Día de Andalucía, and with the help of our Spanish teachers and Miss Janice, the whole school sang the Andalusian hymn together. We also enjoyed an Andalusian-inspired lunch, including the traditional mollete.

Today, we embraced carnival vibes and paraded around the school, showcasing colourful costumes and fantastic moves!

 

Earlier this term, we marked Safer Internet Day with a focus on AI and making safe choices online. The children took part in a poster competition, and we congratulate our winners: Maya from KS2 and Alba from KS1. All posters were displayed during our second Parenting in the Digital Age workshop held on Monday 16th February. Assemblies have continued to emphasise Positivity, Proactivity, and Pride, and we consistently highlight the importance of kindness.

Sporting events included inter-school football and basketball competitions, where the children showed great commitment and sportsmanship. We are also proud of the 698 euros raised for charity through the sale of PAD calendars.

Spending time in classrooms this half term has been so rewarding. The children’s enthusiasm for learning continues to be inspiring. With so many excellent efforts, it was not easy to select three children for the Headteacher’s Award, but after careful consideration, three pupils were chosen.

The next half term is four weeks long and promises to be busy! Parent-teacher meetings will be held on Monday 16th and Monday 23rd March. Memorised poem performances begin in the week commencing 16th March. Swans Got Talent returns in the final week of the spring term, and we encourage children to start thinking about their acts over the half term and audition after the holidays. In the final week, we will enjoy our traditional Easter Bonnet Parade which is always a colourful and creative celebration.

Queridas familias de Swans:

Este medio trimestre ha estado lleno de diversión y aprendizaje. Ayer celebramos el Día de Andalucía y, con la ayuda de nuestros profesores de español y Miss Janice, todo el colegio cantó junto el himno de Andalucía. También disfrutamos de un almuerzo inspirado en Andalucía, que incluyó el tradicional mollete.

Hoy nos sumamos al ambiente de carnaval y desfilamos por el colegio luciendo disfraces coloridos y mostrando movimientos fantásticos.

A principios de este trimestre celebramos el Día de Internet Segura, centrándonos en la IA y en tomar decisiones seguras en línea. Los niños participaron en un concurso de carteles y felicitamos a nuestras ganadoras: Maya de KS2 y Alba de KS1. Todos los carteles se expusieron durante nuestro segundo taller “Parenting in the Digital Age”, celebrado el lunes 16 de febrero. Las asambleas han seguido haciendo hincapié en la Positividad, la Proactividad y el Orgullo, y destacamos constantemente la importancia de la amabilidad.

Entre los eventos deportivos se incluyeron competiciones interescolares de fútbol y baloncesto, donde los niños demostraron gran compromiso y deportividad. También estamos orgullosos de los 716 euros recaudados para una causa benéfica a través de la venta de calendarios PAD. ¡Gracias a las donaciones adicionales, esta cantidad fue incluso mayor que la del año pasado!

Pasar tiempo en las aulas este medio trimestre ha sido muy gratificante. El entusiasmo de los niños por el aprendizaje sigue siendo inspirador. Con tantos esfuerzos excelentes, no fue fácil seleccionar a tres alumnos para el Premio de la Directora, pero tras una cuidadosa consideración, se eligió a tres estudiantes.

El próximo medio trimestre tendrá una duración de cuatro semanas y promete estar muy ocupado. Las reuniones de padres y profesores se celebrarán el lunes 16 y el lunes 23 de marzo. Las presentaciones de poemas memorizados comenzarán en la semana del 16 de marzo. Swans Got Talent regresa en la última semana del trimestre de primavera y animamos a los niños a empezar a pensar en sus actuaciones durante las vacaciones y a presentarse a las audiciones a la vuelta. En la última semana disfrutaremos de nuestro tradicional Desfile de Sombreros de Pascua, que siempre es una celebración colorida y creativa.

Gracias por su continuo apoyo para ayudar a nuestros niños a aprender y crecer. Les deseo unas felices vacaciones de medio trimestre y esperamos dar la bienvenida a todos de nuevo el lunes 13 de abril.

Aunque reconozco el esfuerzo de todos nuestros increíbles alumnos, me gustaría dar una felicitación especial a aquellos que han recibido el Premio de la Directora en esta mitad de trimestre:
