Dear Parents,

I can hardly believe we’ve already reached the end of our first half-term! As the new Headteacher, I have truly enjoyed every moment of this time. It has been wonderful to see our youngest children, just three years old, settling in, learning new routines, and embracing their days with such enthusiasm. All of the children have impressed me with the way they lead by example, showing what it means to live by our three Ps: Positivity, Proactivity and Pride. I could not be prouder of them all.

Every morning, the children arrive with big smiles and such warm greetings which really make my day. They come to school looking so smart, with shirts tucked in, wearing their uniform with pride and ready to learn.

A special mention must go to our new Head Boy and Head Girl, Julian and Catalina, who were chosen by their Year 5 peers. They have been exemplary role models and have taken on the special responsibility of chairing our School Council, which is made up of class representatives from Years 2 to 5. This term, the School Council has been focusing on ways to improve our outdoor areas and outdoor learning. They have already come up with some fantastic ideas, and our next challenge is to explore how we can make them happen. Giving our students a voice and involving them in shaping their school is something I value deeply.

It has been a wonderful term for reading across our school. The children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 have made great progress with our new phonics programme, Little Wandle, which has helped to build their confidence and enjoyment of reading. All of our pupils have loved exploring our wide range of books, both in class and at home. This is why we are delighted to share that we will be hosting another Book Fair next half-term.

Sport has also been a real highlight this half-term. The children have shown great enthusiasm in their P.E. lessons, as well as many proudly representing the school at events such as the World Schools Football Cup 2025 in Barcelona and the International Schools Swimming Gala. We look forward to many more exciting events in the months ahead.

When we return after the break, our thoughts will quickly turn to Christmas and some of our most loved traditions: our Christmas Fayre, end of term concerts, and the Year 5 production, which this year will be ‘A Christmas Carol’. We also love to share the joy of Christmas with our local community and so our Year 4 and 5 choir will be visiting a local care home to sing Christmas songs and spread festive cheer.

Today’s Halloween celebrations were a huge success and everyone looked fantastic in their costumes. It was wonderful to see so much fun throughout the day. During assembly, I was delighted to present the Headteacher Awards for this half-term.

It was an incredibly difficult decision, as we have so many hardworking, determined, and polite children who always strive to do their best. However, I would like to especially congratulate the following pupils for their outstanding efforts this term:

Estimados Padres:

Cuesta creer que ya hayamos llegado al final de nuestro primer medio trimestre. Como nueva directora, he disfrutado verdaderamente cada momento. Ha sido maravilloso ver a nuestros niños más pequeños, de tan solo tres años, adaptarse, aprender nuevas rutinas y afrontar sus días con tanto entusiasmo. Todos los niños me han impresionado con la manera en que dan ejemplo, mostrando lo que significa vivir según nuestras tres P: Positividad, Proactividad y Orgullo (Pride). No podría estar más orgullosa de todos ellos.

Cada mañana, los niños llegan con grandes sonrisas y saludos tan cálidos que alegran mi día. Vienen al colegio luciendo elegantes, con las camisas metidas por dentro, llevando su uniforme con orgullo y listos para aprender.

Merecen una mención especial nuestro nuevo Head Boy y Head Girl, Julian y Catalina, quienes fueron elegidos por sus compañeros de Year 5. Han sido modelos ejemplares y han asumido la especial responsabilidad de presidir nuestro Consejo Escolar, que está formado por representantes de las clases desde Year 2 hasta Year 5. Este trimestre, el Consejo Escolar se ha centrado en buscar formas de mejorar nuestras áreas al aire libre y el aprendizaje en exteriores. Ya han propuesto ideas fantásticas, y nuestro próximo reto será explorar cómo podemos hacerlas realidad. Dar voz a nuestros alumnos e implicarlos en la construcción de su colegio es algo que valoro profundamente.

Ha sido un trimestre maravilloso para la lectura en todo nuestro colegio. Los niños de EYFS y KS1 han progresado mucho con nuestro nuevo programa de fonética, Little Wandle, que ha ayudado a reforzar su confianza y disfrute de la lectura. Todos nuestros alumnos han disfrutado explorando nuestra amplia variedad de libros, tanto en clase como en casa. Nos complace anunciar que organizaremos otra Feria del Libro el próximo medio trimestre.

El deporte también ha sido un verdadero punto destacado este trimestre. Los niños han mostrado gran entusiasmo en sus clases de Educación Física, además de que muchos han representado orgullosamente al colegio en eventos como la Copa Mundial Escolar de Fútbol 2025 en Barcelona y la Gala Internacional de Natación entre colegios. Esperamos con ilusión muchos más eventos emocionantes en los próximos meses.

Cuando regresemos después de las vacaciones, nuestros pensamientos se centrarán rápidamente en la Navidad y en algunas de nuestras tradiciones más queridas: nuestra Feria Navideña, los conciertos de fin de trimestre y la producción de Year 5, que este año será “A Christmas Carol”. También nos encanta compartir la alegría de la Navidad con nuestra comunidad local, por lo que el coro de Year 4 y 5 curso visitará una residencia de ancianos para cantar villancicos y transmitir el espíritu festivo.

Las celebraciones de Halloween de hoy fueron un gran éxito y todos estaban fantásticos con sus disfraces. Fue maravilloso ver tanta diversión a lo largo del día. Durante la asamblea, me complació entregar los Premios de la Directora correspondientes a este medio trimestre.

Fue una decisión increíblemente difícil, ya que tenemos tantos niños trabajadores, decididos y educados que siempre se esfuerzan por dar lo mejor de sí mismos. Sin embargo, me gustaría felicitar especialmente a los siguientes alumnos por sus destacados esfuerzos este trimestre:

Gracias, como siempre, por su continuo apoyo. Les deseo unas vacaciones de mitad trimestre agradables, y espero dar la bienvenida a todos nuevamente, renovados y listos para el trimestre festivo y emocionante que tenemos por delante.
